Rugeley Trent Valley is a railway station on the outskirts of Rugeley in Staffordshire, England. It is one of two stations in Rugeley, the other being Rugeley Town. The station, and all trains serving it, are operated by London Midland.
It is a minor station on the Trent Valley section of Britain's busiest railway line, the West Coast Main Line. It is also the junction with the Chase Line from Birmingham and Walsall.
The station was the location of The Queen's naming of Class 67 locomotive No. 67029 Royal Diamond, marking her diamond wedding anniversary with Prince Phillip, on the 12th October 2007.
Monday to Saturday daytimes and all day Sunday, London Midland
operate 1 train per hour to Birmingham New Street
with some additional services at peak times on weekdays. There is also an hourly service (with 1 two hour gap) to Stafford
that operates on weekday daytimes only. On the Trent Valley Main Line, London Midland
operate a vey limited service of 2 trains per day on week days only running between Crewe
. One of these trains extends north of Crewe to Liverpool Lime Street
and one extends south of Northampton to London Euston
From December 2008
, London Midland
will operate an hourly service from the station to London Euston
. Also from December 2008, the hourly service to Stafford will be withdrawn although services to Stafford will still be available on the new London Euston
