Radio Farda is a
Persian language
radio station based in
Prague and
Washington, D.C. Supported by the U.S. government, Radio Farda broadcasts political, cultural, social and art news with emphasis on
Iran (
Persia).
The name "Farda" means "tomorrow" in Persian. Radio Farda's website has been blocked by Iranian government.
An Iranian-American journalist working for Radio Farda, Parnaz Azima, was banned from leaving Iran after her trip to the country. Her passport was later returned to her on a 550,000 U.S. Dollar bail.
