Pteraspidomorphi

Pteraspidomorphi is an extinct subclass of early jawless fish. The fossils show extensive shielding of the head. Some species may have lived in fresh water. The taxon contains the subgroups Heterostraci, Astraspida, Arandaspida and Eriptychiida.
