Powelliphanta lignaria lusca, known as one of the amber snails, is a subspecies of large, carnivorous land snail, a terrestrial pulmonate gastropod mollusc in the family Rhytididae.
This subspecies is endemic
to the South Island
of New Zealand
. It is only found on the west of the South Island between the Mokihinui River
and Little Wanganui
The ground colour of the shell is reddish-brown and the dark brown axial stripes tend to be wider than in other Powelliphanta lignaria
subspecies, with little space between them.
Major diameter is up to 57 mm, and height up to 35 mm.

as being Nationally Vulnerable
