Possagno

Possagno is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Treviso in the Italian region Veneto, located about 60 km northwest of Venice and about 35 km northwest of Treviso. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 2,154 and an area of 12.1 km².

Possagno borders the following municipalities: Alano di Piave, Castelcucco, Cavaso del Tomba, Paderno del Grappa.
The famous sculptor Antonio Canova (November 1, 1757 - October 13, 1822) was born in Possagno. Its most prominent landmark is the Canova temple (Tempio Canoviano) designed by the artist and completed after his death.
