"Pontifical Catholic University Mother and Teacher" Spanish: "Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra" (PUCMM) is the first private Roman Catholic university in the Dominican Republic and is considered the country's institution of higher education. PUCMM has achieved several "firsts", like being the first private university in the country and the first to offer Industrial, Electrical, Mechanical and Electronics Engineering. At this very moment PUCMM is the only university in the Dominican Republic offering Telematics Engineering. PUCMM is also the institution in charge of assigning the internet domains in the Dominican Republic.

It was founded on September 9, 1962, and opened its doors on November 15th of that year. Its main campus is in the city of Santiago de los Caballeros, and it has smaller campus extensions in Puerto Plata, and Santo Domingo. The main campus offers a variety of degrees ranging from health sciences, to trade school associate degrees. It offers graduate level degrees, and dual degrees with associated universities in the United States and France. Its current rector is Agripino Núñez Collado.
