Polly Carey Draper (born June 15 1956, Gary, Indiana) is an actress, screenwriter, film producer and director.

Career

She received her B.A. in 1977 from Yale University and M.F.A. in 1980 from the Yale School of Drama. She first became known for her role as Ellyn Warren on thirtysomething, earning a best supporting actress nomination at the 1988 Emmy Awards. She wrote the screenplay, produced, and starred in the movie The Tic Code, which is about Tourette's syndrome—a condition from which her husband suffers from. Wolff contributed the music score in the film.

Draper also directed, written, and executive produced the film The Naked Brothers Band, part documentary, part rockumentary, and part mockumentary comedy, about her sons, Nat and Alex Wolff's real-life band they formed in pre-school, which is also a TV series on Nickelodeon. However she does not appear in the film or the TV series but it is mentioned that she deceased.

Personal life

In 1989, she appeared on The Arsenio Hall Show, where she met jazz pianist and composer Michael Wolff where he served as the band-leader from 1989-94. They married, and have two children: Nat Wolff and Alex Wolff.

Draper was born to Phyllis, a Peace Corps administrator, and William Henry Draper III, venture capitalist and civic leader of the United Nations Development Programme. Her brother is venture capitalist Tim Draper. Draper's niece is actress Jesse Draper.
