Playmates Toys is a Costa Mesa, California toy manufacturer and a subsidiary of Hong Kong-based Playmates Holdings Ltd which was founded in 1966.

Trivia

They also have had Merchandising/Publishing Rights with Takara on the Fatal Fury series. However proof of that is very minimal though. On the back of the Instruction Manuel of the SNES version of Fatal Fury Special it had Playmates' logo and address on the back page of the Instruction Manuel. What other involvement Playmates had with the series if any is not known yet.
