Plavka is best known for being the vocal talent behind German dance act Jam & Spoon, whose trance-infused pop sound dominated the international charts in the mid 1990s. She toured and performed around the globe with the duo, and delivered a string of hits including the world-wide number one "Right in the Night", as well as "Find Me (Odyssey to Anyoona)" and "Angel".
Previously Plavka was lead-singer for the seminal British acid-house band The Shamen, and performed on the group's UK and European tours.
The Croat-Peruvian singer has many dimensions to her, which have allowed her not only to star on Top of the Pops, but have also gained her access to select London jazz venues. Plavka was nominated for Best Dance Act with Jam & Spoon at the MTV European Music Awards, as at Annabel's where she recently held a jazz residency.
Plavka moved from Los Angeles to London in Spring 2004 to promote Jam & Spoon's new album when it was released on Universal Records. She also performed Jam & Spoon's latest single "Butterfly Sign" at the New Pop Festival in Germany.
Apart from singing, she has been seen on the catwalk for the Tibetan Relief Ball at the Royal Opera House, and has featured on the BBC's comedy panel game show Never Mind the Buzzcocks. Plavka has been invited to perform at several leading charity events, singing in the China White tent last summer at the Prince's Trust Polo and making a guest appearance at the Veuve Clicquot Gold Cup.
She is about to start recording her first solo album entitled "Plavkalicious" which will be released worldwide on an independent label based in Los Angeles called Wheat Recording.
