"Planet Caravan" is a psychedelic song by Black Sabbath. The song's lyrics and mellow music create a dreamy atmosphere. The song appears on their 1970 breakthrough album, Paranoid. Although the song was never considered a hit by Black Sabbath, it was covered by Pantera and included on their greatest hits as well as their album Far Beyond Driven. "Planet Caravan" was also inspirational to, and covered by psychedelic rock band Mercury Rev. It also gave name and inspiration to the band Planet Caravan (Göteborg, Sweden) who performed under the very same name for years without ever learning to play the song.
Lead singer Ozzy Osbourne achieves the dreamy, swirling vocal effect by singing through a Leslie speaker.
