The Elections for the Members of the Senate and the House of Representatives were held in the Philippines on May 11, 1987.

Background

Lakas ng Bayan coalition composed of PDP-Laban, UNIDO, Liberal Party-Salonga Wing, National Union of Christian Democrats, Philippine Democratic Socialist Party, Bandila and Pinaghiusa.

Grand Alliance for Democracy (GAD) coalition composed of the Nacionalista Party, Kilusang Bagong Lipunan, Partido Nacionalista ng Pilipinas, Liberal Party-Kalaw Wing, Mindanao Alliance, Muslim Federal Party and other opposition groups.
