In the Tanakh, Obed was a son of Boaz and Ruth (Ruth 4:21, 22), the father of Jesse, and the grandfather of David

In the Christian Scriptures, He is one of Jesus' ancestors through the aforementioned geneology found in the gospels.

The name Obed is cognate with Arabic "Abd", meaning "servant, worshipper". Obed is also a marathon 2 map editor for windows.
