The mini-revolvers produced by the company are single action revolvers which have a spur trigger design and are very reminiscent of late 19th Century pocket revolvers, the major difference being the size and the fact the mini-revolvers are made completely of stainless steel. These mini-revolvers are very popular as backup weapons for policemen and anyone wishing to have an ultra-concealable multiple shot firearm.

The North American Arms "Pug" has it's name being derived from the Latin word Pugnus, meaning Fist. The "Pug" at first glance is well named. This is a 5 shot 22 Magnum defensive pistol. It is considerably more powerful than the .22 Long Rifle defense guns and does not have the kick that is expected from a Magnum. For most people this is an outstanding back up handgun.
