New Recreation Ground

The New Recreation Ground is a football stadium in Grays in England, and is the home ground of Grays Athletic. The current capacity is 3,000, of which 1,000 is seated.

The club moved to the ground, originally known as the Recreation Ground in 1906. The record attendance of 9,500 was set in 1959 durnig an FA Cup tie with Chelmsford City.

The ground was redeveloped at the beginning of the 2004-05 season in order to meet the standards set by the Football Conference, and was renamed the New Recreation Ground, often nicknamed The New Rec.

Below the bar area is an indoor 5-a-side AstroTurf pitch. This is hired out to the public and also hosts various community schemes. Grays Athletic announced that they plan to move to a new stadium in the future.
