New Abbey is a village in Dumfries and Galloway, south-west Scotland. It is around south-west of Dumfries. The ruined Sweetheart Abbey is located within the village. to the south is the summit of the prominent hill Criffel.

New Abbey was home to distinguished Queen of the South footballer Dougie Sharpe.
