National Geographic Adventure

National Geographic Adventure, formerly known as Adventure One (A1) but now commonly known as Nat Geo Adventure, is a subscription TV channel part of National Geographic Channels International. It is aimed at younger audiences, providing programming based around outdoor adventure, travel and stories involving people having fun while exploring the world.

National Geographic Adventure is also a magazine affiliated with the National Geographic Society. The magazine covers adventure travel, environmental issues, natural science and other topics related to the outdoors.

Australia, Asia Pacific, Europe and the Middle East retained the use of the new adventure channel, yet the United Kingdom which previously broadcasted A1 decided to replace it with Nat Geo Wild.

In early 2008, National Geographic Adventure Channel Australia and National Geographic Adventure Channel Italy launched a new video sharing feature on their website called Blognotes.

Availability

The channel is available in 40 countries around the world, including;

Adventure One (A1)

The channel was originally branded Adventure One (A1) from it launch on November 1, 1999 until May 1, 2007 when it relaunched with a new brand, stengthening the overall Nat Geo presence. All countries adopted the change, except the United Kingdom which instead changed A1 to Nat Geo Wild.
