Murist is a municipality in the district of Broye, in the canton of Fribourg, Switzerland.
It was first recorded in 1228 as Muris.
Its territory was enlarged in 1981 with the formerly independent municipalities La Vounaise and Montborget, and in 1992 with Franex.
