Mount Rose is a mountain located in the Sierra Nevada east of the California-Nevada border. It is located in the Mount Rose Wilderness in between Lake Tahoe and Reno and is the county highpoint of Washoe County. State Route 431 traverses Mount Rose Summit southeast of Mount Rose. Due to the high elevation, most of the precipitation that falls on the mountain is snow.
