Monunius

Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia - Cite This Source

Monunius was an Illyrian king who lived in the 3rd century BC, more specifically a Dardanii ruler. Many Dardanian rulers of the same age were named Monunius and there seems to be some confusion as to whom certain actions and events pertain. His daughter Etleua or Etuta married the Illyrian king Gentius. He is the first Illyrian to have struck coins. A helmet of one of his soldiers with an inscription in Greek letters has been found in modern Ohrid.
