Marand is among major cities in East Azerbaijan province of Iran. It is located in the north-west of Tabriz (the capital of the province). Its population is estimated at around 185,000. Sheikh Usman Marandi commonly known as Shahbaz Qalander is one of the most famous inhabitants of Marand in History,and some people of marand say (MARIYANA'')mother of NOAH (prophet) is buried in this city .
