A mantinada, (plural mantinades, Greek μαντινάδα, μαντινάδες) — a Cretan folk song. The verse epic Erotokritos from Crete has many characteristics of the mantinada. They are small poems of 2 lines, making rhyme. Cretans use to discuss with mantinades in fests or special events, trying to tease or praise each other.
