Malietoa Tanumafili I

Susuga Malietoa Tanumafili I (1879-1939) was the Malietoa in Samoa from 1898 until his death in 1939. He was born in 1879 to Malietoa Laupepa and Sisavai'i Malupo Niuva'ai. He became the Malietoa when his father died in 1898. He married Momoe Lupeuluiva Meleisea, with whom he had four children. He died in 1939, and was succeeded by his son, Malietoa Tanumafili II.
