Maiden may refer to:

  • Maiden or maid, a female virgin (although originally referring to male virgins as well) or any young female
  • Maidenhead or maidenhood, virginity
  • Maiden name, the family name carried by a woman before marriage: see married and maiden names
  • Maiden, in certain Native American tribes such as Hopi and Tewa, a woman between her first menses and the birth of her first child, associated with the wearing of a specialized hair style and other attributes of dress and behaviour
  • Maiden, the first of the three aspects of the Triple Goddess
  • Maiden, applied figuratively in many situations to mean new, fresh, unspoilt, first or unbeaten:
    • Maiden voyage, the first voyage of a ship or other vessel
    • Maiden speech or first speech, the first speech made by a politician in a formal assembly
    • Maiden over, an over in the sport of cricket in which no runs are scored
    • Maiden Castle, the name of various castles or forts which are reputed never to have been taken
    • Maiden race horse, a race horse that has yet to win a race
    • Maiden plant or tree, one that has grown naturally without pruning or felling
