Mahasti Shahrokhi

Mahasti Shahrokhi is a novelist, a poet, and the winner of numerous literary prizes.

Her works have been published in Another Sea, Another Shore: Persian Stories of Migration (Interlink World Fiction, U.S.), and The Other Voices International Poetry (Paula Brown Publishing, UK). Her novel, A Shawl as Long as the Silk Road (Baran Publication, Sweden, 1999), attracted critical attention, and Cactus magazine (published in the U.S.) devoted its third publication to this novel. Many of her articles have been published in artistic and literary magazines inside and outside of the country.

In addition to her literary achievements Mahasti is a journalist, and theater critic. Her most recent novel Sobh-e Nahan, and poetry collection Jomhoori-e Sokoot are due publication in 2007. She earned her Ph.D. in literature at the Sorbonne, France. She lives in Paris.
