MTV France (also known as MTVF) is the French speaking version of MTV. The channel serves the Francophone world including Belgium (French speaking areas), Switzerland (French speaking areas), Monaco and Africa (French speaking areas), Morocco on cable and Lebanon. It was officially launched in 2000, it was set up to combat competition from MCM. The channel provides a number of French programming such as MTV News, MTV Made en France, Les 100, MTV News many others. MTV's International shows include Pimp My Ride, Dismissed, The Real World (all translated with a French voice over air or use subtitles).
The quantity of music broadcasted by MTV France is small, especially from 21^st December 2007, when wal launched Mtv Base France; now, music is broadcasted only in the night and in the early morning.
