London Buses route 391 is a Transport for London contracted bus route in London, United Kingdom. The service is currently contracted to Transdev London.

History

The route commenced operation on 25 May 1991 running between Turnham Green and Fulham Broadway, Monday to Saturday only, by Riverside Bus using Carlyle-bodied Dennis Darts. A few months later, on 9 November, the route was extended from Turnham Green to Richmond, replacing the withdrawn section of route 27. A Sunday service running between Richmond and Hammersmith was also added, run by R&I Coaches, although this was extended to run the whole length of the route in April 1995.

During November 1996, Stamford Brook Garage closed, and the route transferred to Fulwell Garage. The allocation was once again transferred on 27 June 1998 to Hounslow Garage, until November 2000, when the allocation moved back to Stamford Brook Garage. There were plans to convert the route to double decker and even the occasional Metrobus showed up, but this plan was dropped. During January 2002 the route was converted to low floor using Dennis Dart SLFs. However more recently Volvo B7TLs and Scania OmniDekkas have been introduced to the route.

On 24 January 2004 the route was extended from Fulham Broadway to Sands End.
