Leicester Urban Area

While it has no formal definition as an administrative area, the Office for National Statistics does define a Leicester Urban Area with a population of 441,213 at the time of the 2001 census.

The urban area is, by the ONS figures, the eleventh largest in England, between the Portsmouth Urban Area and the Bournemouth Urban Area.
