Wikipedia
is a city in southern Kyoto Prefecture, Japan. The city was founded on March 12, 2007 after the towns of Kamo, Kizu and Yamashiro from Sōraku District merged. It is the southernmost city in the prefecture. The town is named after the Kizu River, which runs through the city.

As of May 2008, the area the city occupies had an estimated population of 67,835 and the total area is 85.12 km².

Kuni-kyō, an ancient capital between 740 and 744 was on this city's ground.
