Jo Nesbø

Jo Nesbø (born 29 March 1960) is a Norwegian bestselling author and formerly a pop musician.

He was born in Oslo and grew up in Molde. In his younger days he played football for Molde FK. Nesbø has primarily written crime novels, but also song lyrics for the pop band Di Derre (in which he is the vocalist) and a play.

He has been awarded the Norwegian Rivertonprisen and the Scandinavian Glasnöklen (Glass Key award) for his crime novels, and his works have been translated into Swedish, Finnish, Danish, German, Dutch, Lithuanian, Russian, Polish, English, French , and Czech In 2007 The Redbreast, as translated by Don Bartlett, was shortlisted for the CWA Duncan Lawrie International Dagger for crime novels in translation.
