James Douglas "Jim" Morrison was the lead vocalist and the lyricist of The Doors, which was one of the most popular rock bands during the 60's. Morrison was famous for improvisation of spoken poetry recitations, while the band played live music. He is revered as one of the most talented and charismatic figures in the history of rock music.
Despite his great talent and popularity, Morrison had a serious addiction to alcohol and drugs, which grew progressively worse. He died at the young age of 27 in Paris of what was assumed to be a heroin overdose. Since no autopsy was conducted, the precise cause of his sudden death and the reasons behind it remain shrouded in mystery.
