Ahmed al-Jazzar (Arabic أحمد الجزار, born 1720 Bosnia - 1804 Ottoman Acre, Damascus Wiliyah) was the ruler of Akko and Galilee during Ottoman empire from 1775 till his death. He became famous in the world due to his defense of Acre against Napoleon Bonaparte's siege in 1799, when after several months of attacks Napoleon had to withdraw, and his entire campaign to conquer Egypt and the East finally failed.
