Italiotes
Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia - Cite This SourceThe Italiotes were the pre-Roman Greek-speaking inhabitants of the Italian peninsula, between Neapolis and Sicily (people there are still sometimes, albeit very rarely, referred to as Italiotes). During the Roman Republic and the Roman Empire, the Italiotes (i.e. the descendants of Greek settlers) were distinguished from the non-Greek inhabitants of southern Italy.
