The show starred Earl Holliman as Sundance, a gunfighter just released from prison who ends up in the town of Georgetown, Colorado. In the series' first episode, Sundance ends up killing the town villain, resulting in him being asked to be town marshal. Sundance accepts the job, and also ends up a part owner of the Hotel de Paree, owned by two French women, Annette Deveraux, played by Jeanette Nolan, and her daughter, Monique, played by Judi Meredith.
During its brief television run, Sundance dealt with assorted bad guys who found their way to town, as well as maintaining flirtations with both mother and daughter Deveraux. Sundance also befriended a local shopkeeper, Aaron, played by veteran Western performer Strother Martin. The program was filmed at CBS Studio Center.
