Hanyang is also a former name of Seoul, South Korea.

Hanyang is one of the three towns, together with Wuchang and Hankou, which are included in modern day Wuhan, the capital of the Hubei province, in China. Along with the other two sister towns, it stands at the mouth of the Han River, where it merges with the Yangtze.

The Hanyang Arsenal is known for its production of the so-called "Hanyang rifle" - an indigenous Asian copy of the German Model 1888 Commission Rifle, which was heavily used in WW2, as well as in the Korean and Vietnam conflicts.
