HMS Thetis (1782)

HMS Thetis was a 38-gun, fifth-rate frigate of the Royal Navy. She was built at Rotherhithe and launched on 23 September 1782 sold out of the service in 1827.

In 1795 she captured the French storeships Prevoyante and Raison; and in 1801 took part in Keith's expedition to Egypt; in 1809 assisted in cutting out the French man-of-war Nisus (16 guns) at Guadaloupe, and took part in the storming of the batteries at Anse à la Barque. In 1810 Thetis took part in the capture of Guadaloupe. She was sold on 9 June 1814.
