Gruber

Gruber, Franz, 1787-1863, Austrian organist. On Christmas Eve in 1818 he composed his one published work, the music for the poem Silent Night by the local curate, Josef Mohr.
The Gruber-De Gasperi Agreement, named after the foreign ministers of Austria (Karl Gruber) and Italy (Alcide De Gasperi), of September 1946, allowed Trentino-Alto Adige/Südtirol to remain part of Italy, but ensured its autonomy.
