Greg Van Zant is the baseball coach at West Virginia University in the United States.

Van Zant is a former player at WVU. He is a two-time Big East coach of the year and has 349 career wins, second all-time at WVU.

Criticism

Van Zant has been publicly criticized by several former players for the manner in which he coaches and also for refusing to pay some players' meals because the players went to church. In addition, CoachRatings.com gives Van Zant a 100% troubled rating. Van Zant appeared in news stories in 2008 when WVU's quarterback Pat White accused Van Zant of being racist, and also stating that "... Every player I've talked to doesn't like him. He's not a well-liked coach, but I guess he has tenure so they never got rid of him."
