Grani [grah-nee]

Grani

[grah-nee]

Grani is a mythical eight-legged horse that appears in Norse mythology. He is the horse that Sigurd receives through advice from an old man (Odin). Grani is the son of Odin's own steed, Sleipnir.

In Wagner's Ring cycle the name (as "Grane") is given to Brunhilde's horse.
