Global Heritage Fund (GHF) is a non-profit organization founded in 2002 that operates internationally to protect and preserve important cultural heritage sites in developing countries. A Global Heritage Site is one of the archaeological sites and ancient townscapes selected by the GHF Advisory Board.
Based in California, Global Heritage Fund representatives state that its "goal is to invest $20 million over the next ten years into 40 Global Heritage sites threatened by neglect, destruction, mass tourism, and urban sprawl.
Currently, three Global Heritage sites overlap with UNESCO World Heritage Sites: Hampi ruins in India, Mỹ Sơn temple in Vietnam and the old town of Lijiang City in People's Republic of China.
