The area was made up of farmlands and some forests dominated the area. The area was of mixed farming which included pastures, vegetables and groves. In the mid-20th century, suburban housing developments from Athens replaced farms with urban developments. Today, Athens' nearest remaining farm is situated on a hill in the east. It is the only house left and it is a sheep farm. And in the north and northeast where the hills are located. Residential areas are situated in the west, the northwest, the south and the east.
The hill name Tourkovounia are in the northeast and is crossed by an avenue in the southern part. The hill has some forests but is made up of some grasslands. The Alsos Veikou forests lies to the western part.
