Fun is an
indie pop band based in
New York, New York that was formed by Nate Ruess, formerly of
The Format. Ruess formed the band with Andrew Dost of
Anathallo and Jack Antonoff of
Steel Train.
Fun will begin recording their debut album in September 2008 with producer
Steven McDonald, and arranger
Roger Joseph Manning Jr., the former keyboardist of
Jellyfish. They will release a single in November 2008 and their debut album will be available in February 2009 on
Nettwerk Records.
A demo of the first song recorded by the band, "Benson Hedges", can be heard on the band's official MySpace page as well as downloaded from Spin's September 20, 2008 article on the band.
Fun will start its first North American tour on November 8th, 2008 with Jack's Mannequin.
