The
Fix Cup is an annual
Maine high-school hockey tournament named after late sports broadcasting legend
Frank Fixaris. The tournament began in 2007, with Falmouth winning the first championship. Once held at Maine's largest venue, the
Cumberland County Civic Center, and currently at the Portland Ice Arena, it is modeled after Boston's collegiate
Beanpot tournament, as four Southern Maine hockey teams compete in an elimination tournament over the course of two weeks. All four teams are invited back for the second weekend to play in either a championship or consolation game. Proceeds from this tournament benefit the Frank Fixaris Memorial Scholarship at
Saint Joseph's College of Maine.
