Fabian Lloyd Wilnis (born August 23, 1970 in Paramaribo, Suriname) is a Dutch right-sided defender who currently plays for Grays Athletic.
Wilnis was released by Ipswich Town at the end of the 2007–08 season. He was one of the longest serving players at the club, having arrived from De Graafschap in 1999. He has also played for NAC Breda. In his Ipswich Town career he scored six goals, including goals in a 1–1 draw againt Manchester United and in a 2–-0 win against local rivals Norwich City. He was the supporters' Player of the Year for 2005–06.
Under Jim Magilton, Wilnis frequently found himself on the sidelines, he signed a new one-year contract in May 2007. With the revival of Spanish defender Sito Castro and the strong partnership of Alex Bruce and Jason de Vos. Wilnis found it hard to break back into the side and looked set to end his nine year career with the Blues. After Ipswich's final game of the 2007–08 season, Wilnis announced that he was to retire but looks set to have some coaching role at the club..
Despite the speculation of Wilnis' coaching aspirations at Town, the Dutchman has since been told there is no vacancies at Portman Road and brought to an end a 10 year association with the club. A definite date and opposition are yet to be decided, but he will be given a testimonial match some time in August with the defender hoping for Feyenoord.
In August 2008, Wilnis signed Grays Athletic on a one-year contract.
