Evershot village hall has long been regarded as an excellent venue for live music. The TARDIS-like corrugated steel building reveals an inside clad with timber creating ideal acoustics for any live performance. A capacity of 200 gives performers and audience a chance to feel part of the intimate atmosphere the hall creates.
One buildings of special interest is Summer Lodge Country House Hotel, Restaurant and Spa, which features an example of Thomas Hardy's talent as an architect.
Evershot started off as a Boar pen, around 1100 years ago. Since it had a river running by it (The River Frome) a settlement was built by it, and since then the village has been growing, although its population has dropped.
Later, Summer Lodge was built in 1798. It was originally a Dower house, but in 1893 it was enlarged and much later, in 1979 it was made a Hotel, with guests paying over £10.00 (€13.04 or $20.32).
