Eorl Crabtree (born October 2 1982) is a rugby league player who is a prop forward currently playing for Huddersfield Giants in the Super League in England. At 6ft 6in (198cm) he is currently the tallest player in Super League.
The 18 st (114 kg) prop is the nephew of the legendary British professional wrestler, Shirley "Big Daddy" Crabtree, himself a former rugby league player who played for Bradford Northern, although he never made an appearance for the first teams due to his fiery temper.
It was suggested Eorl's lack of this type of aggression is what held him back from further success, much to the annoyance of Eorl, although in recent years this has improved somewhat and he is now one of the most promising forwards in the game.
Born in Cleethorpes, Eorl Crabtree was later raised in the town of Meltham, Huddersfield since he was three years old and attended Honley High School.
Huddersfield Giants
Eorl signed for the Huddersfield Giants on his 17th Birthday.Eorl made his debut for the Giants in 2001. The following season he scored 25 tries in 37 league and cup appearances whilst playing at centre during the Giants' National League promotion season.
Since the departure of Paul Reilly last season Eorl Crabtree is now the longest serving player at Huddersfield Giants being there 8 years & is a key member of the squad. He currently wear's the #8 shirt, Eorl will have to prove himself next season as competition for his spot is heating up with the likes of Darryl Griffin,Paul Jackson etc... coming close to stealing his spot.
