Elvira, Mistress of the Dark is a 1988 comedy film directed by James Signorelli. Cassandra Peterson reprises her role as horror hostess Elvira in her feature film debut. The screenplay was written by Peterson, John Paragon and Sam Egan. The original music score was composed by James B. Campbell.
Plot summary
TV horror hostess Elvira, after losing her job for refusing to sleep with her new boss, inherits a huge mansion in Fallwell,
Massachusetts in her late aunt's will. When the black-clad and sexy Elvira arrives in town, she creates an instant scandal amongst the conservative old folks who see her as cheap and immoral. But she discovers that her aunt was not a gentle and moral person either. Elvira's uncle wants a magical cookbook also left to her by her aunt and incites the locals to burn her as a witch.
