Eldon Square Bus Station is one of two bus stations serving the city centre of
Newcastle upon Tyne,
England.
It is located in the Haymarket area of the city centre, near to Newcastle University and adjacent to the less modern Haymarket Bus Station and near Haymarket Metro Station. It is attached to and accessible from Eldon Square Shopping Centre which links the bus station with the commercialised Northumberland Street and Monument area.
The 9 bay bus station re-opened on 18 March 2007 after redevelopment and modernisation works, and is managed by Nexus. Features of the station include automatic boarding doors at of the nine boarding areas that open only when a bus is at the stand, and electronic departure boards.
Eldon Square Bus Station principally serves County Durham, West Gateshead, and the Tyne Valley. Other parts of North East England are served from Haymarket Bus Station or city centre stops.
