eegee's is a chain of fast food restaurants in Tucson, Arizona. It specializes in submarine sandwiches known as grinders, but it is most famous for its frozen slush drinks, officially called "eegee's drinks" but colloquially known simply as "eegees." It was founded in 1971 by Edmund Irving and Robert Greenberg, who combined their initials ("E" from Edmund and "G" from Greenberg) to create the name "eegee's." It has been noted for community activism, from its recycling practices to its program for training and employing the mentally disabled to its tradition of collecting donations for charitable organizations.
eegee's was sold to CEO Foods on September 18, 2006.
