Eddie is a fictional character in the film Ice Age: The Meltdown. Eddie is one of Ellie the mammoth's brothers, who she was brought up with when she had lost her herd. He is an opossum. Eddie is very protective of Ellie, as is Crash, and at first does not take kindly to Manny, Sid, or Diego, who accompany Ellie, Crash, and Eddie on their voyage away from the flooding waters, due to the opossums' (and Ellie's) tendency to move only at night. In time, however, he warms up to the three of them, more or less.

Crash and Eddie are both young and wild, with a strong penchant for playing practical jokes, such as shooting pebbles at others with reeds, or mistranslationg the words which someone may say. Eddie: has brown eyes, and part of his muzzle is brown.
