Durham College of Applied Arts and Technology is located in Oshawa, Ontario, Canada with satellite campuses in Pickering, Uxbridge, Whitby, Port Hope, Port Perry and Beaverton. Durham College has over 6,000 full-time and 23,000 part-time students.

History

Founded in 1967, Durham College has 34,000 alumni today. The college was established during the formation of Ontario’s college system in 1967.

Partnerships

Durham College and has a shared campus and facilities with the University of Ontario Institute of Technology. The college, in conjunction with UOIT and private enterprise, has developed network infrastructure to support laptop-based learning at both institutions. This includes the integration of wireless services on campus, as well as e-learning content and curriculum development. Trent University also offers a full-time program at the Durham College campus.

Durham College's Animation Program

The animation program prides itself on being the most intensive digital animation program from Character Animation, 3D modeling, foundations in fine arts, communications and filmmaking, to the knowledge of the business and production processes in commercial entertainment and games studios. The program was developed with the input of artists, 2d and 3d animators, and production wizards. It affords the opportunity to those passionate about a career in computer animation to fully explore all of the venues available to them in advertising, film, animation and game studios. Grads have worked on Harry Potter, Ruby Gloom, Backyardigans and many other productions.
